Everything about vin.co

vin.co is a French SaaS PIM/DAM platform created in 2010 for the wine, spirits and beverage industry. Here are the answers to the questions we are asked most often.

Discover vin.co

vin.co is a French SaaS platform for PIM (product information management) and DAM (digital asset management) designed for wine and spirits producers. It centralizes product sheets, vintages, media and regulatory data in a single repository, then distributes them to the website, e-commerce, PDF sheets, QR codes, extranets and trade partners. It is used by more than 3,000 industry professionals.

vin.co was created in 2010 by Philippe Hugon, then managing partner of Vinternet, one of the first French digital agencies, specializing in the wine sector since 1995.

vin.co is designed for wine houses and négociants, cooperatives, estates and brands, as well as federations and networks that need to manage and distribute reliable product information across several channels, languages and markets.

vin.co is used by more than 3,000 industry professionals, including Famille Perrin, Famille Hugel, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) and Estandon Coopérative en Provence.

vin.co was created in 2010. The platform is used by more than 3,000 wine and spirits industry professionals, its product sheets are viewed more than 7 million times a year and its availability reaches 99.98%. Data is hosted in France (AWS, Paris region).

A PIM (Product Information Management) centralizes descriptive product data: texts, technical characteristics, vintages, prices, regulatory data. A DAM (Digital Asset Management) manages media files: bottle photos, labels, videos, documents. vin.co brings both together in a single platform, so that every product sheet is distributed with the right visuals.

Choosing a PIM for wine and spirits

There are two families of solutions. Generalist PIMs, such as Akeneo or Quable, are designed for catalogs in every sector and are configured to fit the business. Specialized PIMs, such as vin.co, offer a data model (vintages, grape varieties, appellations, terroirs) and compliance applications designed for the industry. The right choice depends on the size and diversity of the catalog, the distribution channels and the regulatory obligations. See the vin.co, Akeneo, Quable comparison →

Yes. vin.co lets you structure several brands or estates within a single environment, with appropriate access rights, and distribute up-to-date sheets to teams, distributors and sales channels. Estandon Coopérative en Provence, for example, uses it to centralize and distribute its product information. Read the Estandon testimonial →

Compliance and labeling

Since December 8, 2023, the ingredients list and the nutrition declaration have been mandatory for wines produced in the European Union. They can be provided via an electronic label accessible by QR code, provided that certain particulars (including the energy value and allergens) remain on the physical label.

Yes, with Compliance Suite: a set of applications that can be activated separately (including Nutri QR Code, Nutri Embed Code and vin.co TRI) that manage ingredients, the nutrition declaration, allergens and recycling instructions alongside other product information, and generate the regulatory QR code for each cuvée and vintage. GS1 Digital Link is included at no extra cost. Compliance Suite is available from €20 / month, even if your catalog is managed elsewhere. See Compliance Suite →

Yes, in several European countries: displaying recycling instructions on packaging has been mandatory in Italy since 2023 and in Spain since 2025. The law allows digital display, for example via QR code. The vin.co TRI application generates these instructions for each product and tracks changing obligations country by country. The GS1 augmented QR Code is based on the GS1 Digital Link standard: a QR code linked to the product's GTIN that points to structured data. The topic is becoming concrete for wine houses with the expectations of large retailers and the scanning of 2D codes at the point of sale by 2027. GS1 Digital Link is included at no extra cost in Compliance Suite. Prepare for the GS1 augmented QR Code →
